About Me
Hello,
I’m Jo an integrative therapist and mental health trainer based in Stafford. But more than that, I’m also a mum, a partner, a social worker, a paramedic, a taxi driver, a listener, and a real person who knows how heavy life can feel when you’re wearing too many hats at once.
That’s one of the reasons I started THRYV Therapy & Training to create something a little different.
A space where people can take a breath. Where you can be seen, heard, and understood without judgment. A space where we move beyond simply getting through the day and start to rediscover what it means to truly thrive.
Over the years, I’ve seen how easy it is to lose yourself when life feels relentless when you’re juggling responsibility, stress, loss, or simply the weight of holding everything together. Therapy, for me, isn’t about fixing anyone. It’s about connection walking alongside you, offering compassion and curiosity, and helping you rediscover the strength and clarity already within you.
Whether we’re sitting together in my cosy therapy room, walking side by side in nature, or connecting online, I’ll meet you exactly where you are emotionally, physically, and practically. Every session is built around you and what you need in that moment.
My background spans more than 20 years in the field of mental health and wellbeing, across healthcare, education, charity, and community settings. I’ve had the privilege of working with children, adults, families, and professionals each with their own story, their own challenges, and their own resilience.
This experience has shaped my integrative and trauma-informed approach, drawing on different therapeutic models to create something flexible, human, and deeply person-centred. There is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to healing or growth which is why THRYV exists: to make therapy and wellbeing support accessible, inclusive, and real.
“I suppose it is tempting, if the only tool you have is a hammer, to treat everything as if it were a nail.”
~ Abraham Maslow
Alongside my 1:1 therapy work, I also deliver training and wellbeing programmes for teams, charities, and organisations who want to make mental health a real part of their culture, not just a tick box.
These workshops cover topics such as resilience, emotional intelligence, stress management, self-care, and high-risk awareness. Each session is practical, engaging, and designed to create meaningful change in how people think, feel, and work together.
I bring the same compassion and honesty to my training that I do to therapy because whether you’re supporting one person or a whole organisation, it always begins with understanding, empathy, and connection.
If you’re exploring therapy for yourself, or seeking professional training to support the wellbeing of your team, I’d love to hear from you. You can get in touch via my contact page or book a free 20-minute discovery call to talk through what you’re looking for.
Wherever you are on your journey, personally or professionally, know that you don’t have to face it alone. There’s a space here for you to pause, reflect, and begin to THRYV.
Warmly,
Jo
